Released by 14º Sports Marketing in conjunction with Adventure Sports Magazine. The DVD is comprised of five lesson segments designed to introduce new racers to the skills needed in adventure racing. The Lessons are: Gear & Equipment, Navigation, Kayaking, Trail Running and Mountain Biking.
Adventure Racing 101 also includes exciting race footage from the Jeep 12-Hour Adventure Race held at Ringwood State Park, New Jersey. Lesson segments are taught by some of the top racers and instructors on the East Coast including John Hartley, winner of the 2002 Balance Bar New York 24 Hour and the 2003 Wild Onion New York, Brian Duncanson, founder of Genesis Adventures and former captain of Team Guinness, and Eric Stiller, founder of the Manhattan Kayak Company. Adventure Racing 101 is hosted by adventure media personality Carey Bond, who has been featured on the Outdoor Life Network, ESPN2, Sirius Satellite Radio and RSN.
