The Black Diamond OneShot is a three-season, freestanding solo shelter that is roomy enough to sit up in, yet packs down small and weighs less than some bivy sacks.
Using a two-and-a-half pole design similar to the Lighthouse, the OneShot offers a full side-opening door with a built-in window and another window on the opposite side with awnings over both. The canopy is built with highly water-resistant and breathable Epic by Nextec fabric, and the trapezoidal floor is made of double silicone coated nylon ripstop.
Weighing in at a superlight 2 pounds 6 ounces. Tent body pack size is only 6 inches by 9 inches. Poles pack down to only 15.5 inches by 2 inches. The tent body and poles come in two separate stuff bags for easier packing.
The free standing design makes setup fast and easy. 2 DAC featherweight poles set from the inside of the tent so you can get out of the weather even quicker. A half pole across the top gives increases structural strength over a basic cross-pole design, giving you shelter from full-on conditions.
Steep walls create a generous living space, while the lean floor plan allows you to pitch it on couch size ledges. The mesh/fabric side-opening door is covered by a wide awning, promoting cross-ventilation and increasing structural integrity. The OneShot is equally at home on hot desert or cool alpine trips.
To keep your small items safe, the OneShot has two interior net pockets. Perfectly suited for those looking for an ultra lightweight and packable solo tent.

EPIC Fabric by Nextec: EPIC by Nextec® is constructed by silicon-encapsulating individual fibers, making it breathable and extremely lightweight. EPIC offers better protection than DWR-treated fabrics that wash out over time and is more breathable than PU coatings or PTFE laminates including Gore-Tex, Conduit SL and Pertex®. EPIC is excellent for use in tents when heavy condensation is an issue and during rain and snow showers.
SilNylon Fabric: SilNylon is a silicone-coated ripstop nylon that is twice as strong as high quality polyurethane-coated ripstop nylon. At two-thirds the weight of PU-coated ripstop, SilNylon offers excellent strength-to-weight ratio. SilNylon is waterproof, resilient in its durability and is very resistant to degradation over time.
DAC Poles: DAC Featherlite tent poles work to inherently improve a tent’s strength-to-weight ratio while providing the least chance of breakage because there are no glued inserts. Their sleeved and structurally sound connecting pole sections eliminate their weakest link, glued pole inserts, reducing weight by 15 % over other commonly-used aluminum poles.
