The Blackburn System X8 is the next generation in light technology for cycling. Powered by two ultra-bright, state of the art Luxeon® emitters that put out 85 lumens of brilliant blue-white light each for a total of 170 lumens. New Li-Ion battery is lightweight and compact.
Blackburn's internal heat management and Constant Current Technology ensures that the emitters receive an even flow of current throughout the battery's run time. That means that even when there's only 15 minutes of battery life remaining, they'll be nearly as bright and powerful as when you first turned them on.
The System X8 comes with one wide beam head, and one spot beam head. Head units clicks into four different positions to quickly aim the light horizontally. 1 helmet mount and 2 standard/oversized universal bar clamps included.
Extremely efficient
Because Luxeon® Emitters are extremely efficient, System X8 can offer exceptional run times - from 2.5 to 10 hours. Built into the head units is a mode switch, there's a 30%-70%-100% run modes, plus a flash mode. A thumb dimmer switch is included.
Extremely reliable
With bike lights, reliability is key. System X8 is one of the most reliable high-powered lighting systems out there. Solid-state Luxeon Emitters are more durable than traditional filament style HID and Halogen bulbs, and highly resistant to impact and vibration damage, System X emitters have a lifespan of 50,000 hours. The head unit is designed with proprietary heat management elements. Electronics are stored in the battery pack, where they can't be harmed by the high temperatures inside the head. The whole system is throughly impact tested and designed to meet the rigorous IPX7 water resistance standard.
Lightweight, compact Li-Ion battery
New Li-Ion battery is 30% lighter and 30% smaller than the previous NiMH battery. System X battery and charger are packed with features designed to make life easier. An LED Fuel Gauge on the battery lets you monitor battery life when your riding, or charge status when charging. The battery itself is designed to securely strap to various tube shapes, or fit in bottle cages, jersey pockets or hydration packs.
State-of-the-art SuperCharger
Designed to be plugged in whenever not in use. This ensures it's always ready to ride, and also prolongs battery life by protecting against deep discharge. Stage 1: Fast Charge, Quick charge cycle designed to get the battery pack up to 95% charged in 3.3 hours. Stage 2: Trickle Charge, Slower, safer charge mode for the last 5% (an hour) of the charge cycle. Stage 3: Sleep Mode, Once fully charged, the battery enters a “sleep” mode waking up every 7 days and checking battery status and recharging as needed.
