The Grivel Himalaya poles are lighter, more dependable and easier to use than most trekking poles. The Himalaya has a medium sized basket that pivots, for use on both snow and trail.
The Himalaya folds up and go together similar to a tent pole. A cable runs inside the pole, the lower sections slides into the upper sections. A simple metal button tightens the cable locking the sections together. A push on the button (on the top pole section) unlocks the system. With this construction there is no accidental pole length slippage or collapsing. Top quality 7075 aluminum is used to construct the pole sections.
The Saturn basket works well for both snow and trail. The basket pivots so that it doesn’t impede the spike from sticking into the surface, or getting caught between objects. Carbide tipped spike insures durability.
The grip is super light and soft EVA foam that covers the whole upper part, so that it can be held wherever preferred. The wrist strap is simple yet comfortable.
Available in two lengths, 115cm (45.3”) and 125cm (49.2”). Himalaya poles fold down to just 39cm (15.4”).
