We compared Kool Stop MTB Pads with Shimano XTR V-brake pads. In dry clean conditions Shimano XTR brake pads performed slightly better. In wet, muddy or dirty conditions Kool Stop MTB brake pads were greatly superior in stopping power. Overall Kool Stop MTB brake pads performed much better in the varied conditions that are encountered in mountain biking.
