- Ultralight Synthetic Jacket at 12.7 ounces!
- Retains 80% Insulation Value when Wet
- Extremely Warm for its Weight
- Luxuriously Soft
- Extremely Compressible
The Montbell UL Thermawrap Parka is only 12.7 ounces, insulates when wet and is wind and water resistant! The heaviest and warmest of the Thermawrap jackets, the parka features a hood and more insulation to keep you warm in the worst conditions. Only slightly heavier than the Thermawrap Jacket, but far warmer.
Updated for 2009: The fabric now has a softer hand, is far less shiny, and makes very little noise with movement. Cuffs now feature a wedge shaped stretch panel for increased comfort and durability.
Two hand warmer pockets and an insulated adjustable hood increase comfort. Full length coil zipper has a wind blocker behind the zipper.
Exceloft synthetic insulation acts like down, providing the best combination of insulation, lofting, durability and compressibility. Exceloft retains heat and maintains its lofting properties 10-20% better than other leading synthetic insulations. Unlike down, Exceloft retains 80% of its insulation value when wet! Exceloft absorbs less that 1% of the water that it comes in contact with, making it highly resistant to saturation and extremely fast drying.
The shell is made out of Ballist Airlight ripstop nylon that is incredibly soft, light and highly wind resistant. This jacket is so light you will not have an excuse to leave warm insulation behind that could save your life. Stuff sack included.

Ballistic Airlight™ - 15-denier Ballistic Airlight™ nylon is astoundingly thin, weighing less than half of a 45-denier nylon of normal shells while offering equal strength. This strength comes from the manufacturing process where the nylon is repeatedly stretched to align the molecules, much like the tensilizing of steel, resulting in an extremely light weight, wind resistant, breathable and water resistant fabric.
Exceloft™ - Montbell's Exceloft™ insulation uses 8-denier polyester threads as a structure to intertwine with extra thin 0.7-denier threads that add more air pockets and resilience. As a result, Exceloft™ products rival the warmth and weight of other synthetic insulations. Exceloft™ retains less than 1% of their weight in water. Exceloft™ will keep you warm even when wet.
