The Salomon Raid Devil 40 S-Lab is the backpack Salomon built for its sponsored athletes.

The Raid Devil 40 S-Lab has several features that go beyond the normal Raid Revo 30. Built into the shoulder straps are water bottle pockets that completely surround the water bottle to keep it secure even while running. On the sides of the water bottle pockets are stretch mesh pockets big enough for food or a compass.

External bladder access makes changing your hydration faster. On the back panel of the backback, a Velco pad pulls up to give you fast access to the hydration sleeve.

Salomon uses lightweight yet durable 210 denier double ripstop and 70 denier ripstop fabric to make this pack as lightweight as possible. The Raid Devil 40 S-Lab is the ultimate backpack for expedition adventure races.

The Airwing waistbelt has thick padding for more comfort and stability. Two large zippered pockets are built into the waistbelt. Perfect fit velcro waistbelt stays exactly where you set it, unlike buckles that can slip. The waistbelt also has a carabiner loop on each side. 3 Airvent foam pads protect your back. The Airvent system allows crucial ventilation.

Shaped shoulder straps have high density foam for comfort, a Suunto GPS Pod attachment strap and detachable whistle. Load lifter straps above the shoulders allow weight adjustment on the go. Adjustable sternum strap moves up or down 5 inches. As your hydration bladder gets smaller, the top strap allows pack compression on the fly to compensate.

Two large side pockets, top zippered pocket and rear velcro pocket provide quick access to gear. Rear compression system enable you to adjust the volume to perfectly fit the contents of your pack. Tow strap makes for quick attachment to a teammate.

Inside the main compartment is separate pocket for necessities such as a first aid kit, and a velcro opening to the removable foam backpanel that can be used as an emergency sleeping pad. Eyelets at the bottom of the compartment evacuation water. Reflective strips on the sides and back increase nighttime visibility.

S-Lab products are usually reserved for elite sponsored athletes, but Salomon made an exception because this is the sickest pack you can get your hands on and anyone planning on winning an adventure race deserves a fair chance.

*Because the Raid Devil 40 S-Lab backpack is made as light as possible, it doesn't carry Salomons usual warranty. This pack should last for several races and many training trips, but it could get trashed faster.
