The Smartwool PhD Cycling Ultra Light Mini Crew Socks combines merino wool with an improved fit system to give you one of the best cycling socks available. Ultra light non-cushion sole protects against blisters and abrasion.

Smartwool socks wicks moisture faster, reduce blisters and keeps your feet at a more comfortable temperature. The natural crimp in Smartwool fibers trap air pockets within the fabric, keeping your feet warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The natural fiber also greatly reduces bacteria growth and odor build up.

Smartwool's slogan for the PhD sock line is "The Highest Degree in Performance". Smartwool used paper-thin force sensors to measure the pressures athletes' feet endured as they pursued their sports. Then they fine tuned the socks to provide ultra-dense cushioning in the areas where impact was highest and stripped away the cushion that wasn't needed. Smartwool evaluated the mechanics of the athlete's foot and identified critical fit areas so that maximum fit, protection, and minimum weight were achieved.

Smartwool's new SmartFit System II uses a four-point banded sport compression system to provide an incredible secure and comfortable fit above and below the heel, under the arch and across the instep.
